The Answer Is...

Beachball!

We have more summer cookies--watermelon, flip flops, ice cream cones, sailboats, sunshines and starfish. All are beautifully decorated and in the freezer. These make great "end of the year gifts" for teachers. I'll be arranging a huge platter to take to my favorite elementary school--stay tuned for a photo.

Graduation Cake Pops!

We were invited to a graduation party for 3 different friends. What could I bring besides cards and money? Cake pops of course! These are strawberry. Can't wait to taste them!

We were invited to another graduation party! Damascus colors are green, gold, and white. I wonder what Audrey's cooking up this weekend! Her son came to exchange cookie cutters with me--a cowboy boot for a flip-flop--it is great to live so close!

I know what I'm not cooking up--cake pops!!!!! After falling in love with the taste, I just had to try and make them. The cake crumbled, the chocolate wasn't the right consistancy, I learned you can't color chocolate with gels--it gets a really weird texture, and they are really hard to dip, they became bottom heavy. If you need cake pops, call Joan, she's made three batches. I quit. ~~Audrey~~

What Am I?

Don't say ugly!!!!
Check back on Monday for the answer.

Sail Into the Sunset!

This is my first attempt at sailboat cookies. I see potential for lots of colors. My daughter says they are the cutest things I've ever made. What do you think?

Summer Cookies

What fun! Watermelon cookies were a blast to make. My daughter says I should take a bite out of each one to make it look juicy. Other summer shapes are coming soon...

Our History

When my niece was getting married, she asked me about favors. We decided that beautiful ones that could be eaten or used up were the best alternative. (How many little picture frames or candles do you really need?) We came up with the idea of a large sugar cookie, but it had to taste as good as it looked. Being of an analytical mind, I started my research. I tried many kinds of sugar cookie recipes until I found one that was easy to work with and tasted great. Then I moved on to different types of icing. After many attempts, I found one that worked. I then experimented with how long a cookie could be frozen and still taste fresh. As you can imagine, my family ate lots of cookies! Experimenting done, it was time to move onto the logistics. How was I going to make 200 hibiscus flower cookies in time for the wedding? Ask friends to help! Audrey and Lisa jumped on board to help with the decorating. We had so much fun that we just kept baking and decorating cookies! My only regret...no pictures of the hibiscus flower cookies!

Cake Pops

I've been admiring these from afar for quite some time. I thought they seemed very time consuming, not sure how good they would taste and they just aren't as beautiful as cookies.
Joan decided to try her hand at these. I was very skeptical when she told me she was going to make them. She had eaten Katie's and raved about them. I just couldn't see them tasting that good. I'll be the first to admit I was wrong--these are absolutely delicious and are addicting! We may have to change our name to Cookies and Cake Pops for a Good Cause.

Mother's Day

With Mother's Day fast approaching, I have these in the freezer and available for purchase. Perfect for Mother's Day or any day!

Cookies for a Friend

While I was baking for the shower--I made extra cookies to take to a friend. I didn't turn them into dresses, but I used the same decorating idea.

Wedding Shower Cookies

All dressed up and ready to go. It was fun dressing each cookie in a different style! I especially like the pearl necklaces. Hopefully these will be a hit at the shower.

Half Dressed!

Step 1 is complete. Now for the fun part!

Naked Cookies

Blank cookies have so much possibility! It is great to see a "blank canvas" and think about how to decorate them. These cookies were baked for a bridal shower for a friend's daughter. I baked some extras for another friend.
